Beefy! I haven't gone over 1TB in SSDs, but about ~600 GB holds almost all of my stuff.

Heck, I've got all my documents and important stuff on this 128GB SSD on this #Stinkpad

Can't seem to get the wacom digitizer working in #FreeBSD. :/

I hate to leave #BSD for a while, but I might have to let @tulpa jab me into installing #Debian or forfeit my avatar. :P

Yeah, auto-tune has to be tested on each machine to make sure it doesn't have any adverse effects.

It was fine on my old #Stinkpad, but not on others. It can be too aggressive.

I'm still using my early 2010-model X200 nearly every day.

I've got the #Libreboot firmware on it and it's currently running #FreeBSD.

I bought it for $100* in January 2019 "just for writing," and it became my gateway drug back into the FOSS world.

I am forever grateful. 😅

*Plus about another $100 for the SSD, drive door, stylus, battery, and AC adapter.

Learning to adapt my workflow to the BSDs has given me some of this fun feeling back, and also playing with #uxn, the not-quite-retro #permacomputing 16-bit virtual machine and assembler.

I stayed up until 6am configuring #OpenBSD on my old #stinkpad a couple nights in a row a few months ago 😅

#BSD gives me the feeling of using old Sun workstations 30 years ago (but modern).

uxn gives me the feeling of late 8-bit and early 16-bit home micros.

I wouldn't want to run any other OS on an internet-facing machine. 😅

I had a miserable time of it as a desktop on my old #stinkpad X200, but I think it's still great for servers or beefier desktops.

This is gonna tank my #FOSStooterReputation, but I used to just take class notes in MS Word as recently as five years ago. 🤦

(On a MacBook Air)
(And sync with Google Drive)

Today, it'd be a #Stinkpad or other FOSS-friendly device, and markdown in Vim.

The only thing I'd miss is inline images, which I used only a handful of times in the three years I had that computer in college.

(My previous MacBook was way too heavy to lug to class every day)
