“… the point is not so much the activity itself as it is the ritualized reflection. The idea is to take some time to look inward and examine.”

“'… It’s possible to start living again! See things anew as you once did—that is how to restart life!'
»no matter how disappointing our behavior has been in the past, the principles themselves remain unchanged. We can return and embrace them at any moment. What happened yesterday—what happened five minutes ago—is the past. We can reignite and restart whenever we like.
»Why not do it right now?” (The daily stoic, Holiday & Hanselman)

If you haven't figured it out by now, in addition to being all about and , I have been diving into the , as well as , for the past few years.

One of my resources around is the book "The Daily Stoic". Today's quote, from , really got to me:

"Many times an old man has no other evidence besides his age to prove he has lived a long time"

At 50 years old, this kinda hits home hard for me.

@0xamit Happy to help!

Books

There are 3 main books about stoicism, but there is a ton of translations, if you are starting out I would go for:

Meditations - Gregory Hays
Letters of a Stoic - Robin Campbell
Discourses - Robin Hard

If you want to explore similar themes, I recommend James Stockdale and Montaigne(Essays on audible are great)

There are also modern stoic writers, these are:

Donald Robertson
William B. Irvine
Massimo Pigliucci
John Sellars

They can be a bit more on the academic side, but on the plus side there is little self-help fluff there.

Also worth a mention The Practicing Stoic By Ward Farnsworth to always keep in mind the whole goal of stoicism is to actually practice.

Events

Each year, there is an event called Stoic Week that I highly recommend in participating modernstoicism.com/stoic-week/ it is usually the same week as Stoicon modernstoicism.com/stoicon/

Courses

Donald Robertsons courses are available here learn.donaldrobertson.name/ and I think if you get his Patreon you can get access that way too.

Communities

Reddit reddit.com/r/Stoicism/
Discord discord.com/invite/GKPgSjk

Commentary

If you are looking for self-help, I would highly recommend to dig more into CBT which has some roots in stoicism and is used by therapists, a good course is here wondrium.com/cognitive-behavio

If you are looking for more similar content like Ryan Holiday, I would go for Farnam Street fs.blog/books-that-changed-my- in particular if you become a member, the forum is really good

And if this was not enough, there is more here reddit.com/r/Stoicism/wiki/gui
