In the early 1990s, the #stockexchanges of France, Germany and the UK were more or less level pegging, based solely on the closing numbers on the exchanges.
Gradually, Germany increased her pace, leaving the UK a clear second, with a respectable distance between us and France.

No longer!

The #FTSE100 is back to c.7,500 (still not back to 2017 levels=7687) but the French are snapping at our heels, with #CAC40 at 7186 (high of 7564 in April).

Presumably #Brexit?

Great debate on MiFID/MiFIR in @EP_Economics. I called for caring about the smaller #stockexchanges. For them trade of data is an important source of income, therefore the COM's proposal (by making that free) would put these smaller stock exchanges into competitive disadvantage.
