The Stockingfield Junction Safety Gate.
The Forth and Clyde Canal sits on a raise embankment high above the north of Glasgow. This safety gate was one of several installed in 1942 to stop the canal flooding the city in the event it was bombed during the Second World War.

Art installation by David Galbraith at the new Stockingfield Bridge in the North of Glasgow. This is a quirky little piece, but still on I like. It will be interesting to see how it changes over the years as the car gradually decays and is reclaimed by nature.

The new Stockingfield Bridge in the north of Glasgow. It provides the first pedestrian link between the communities of Ruchill, Gilshochill and Maryhill since the Forth and Clyde Canal was opened in 1790. Love the sinuosity of its long sweeping lines.
