The magnificent Dunnottar Castle on the Aberdeenshire coast south of Stonehaven. Probably a defensive site for two thousand years or more, no other Scottish castle comes close in terms of a sense of sheer brooding impregnability. Today finally got outside and went to the beach with @materialsalchemy and drank take away coffee with oat milk while watching the waves. My goodness but that's better. I always forget just how much difference it makes. Physically pretty exhausted now, but I'll be able to rest more efficiently. #Stonehaven

- many many herring gulls (obviously)
- some pied wagtails
- a couple of crows
- several jackdaws
- a GREENFINCH we are pretty sure and I am so excited by this
On the way home from the beach/harbour the afternoon light caught the chimney breasts where a couple of the gulls were sitting, making it look like their bums were glowing. :D

PHEW made it to the beach, and I feel so so much better. Spent 20 minutes or so watching rough waves and getting a bit of spray in my face while @materialsalchemy went to the Co-op.
