I watched #Stonehouse. Three hours of nothing to go on than a massive celebration of #Schadenfreude watching a one dimensional character failing at everything he does in a cartoonish way would really have worked for me in the 80s or 90s.

I watched the first episode of #Stonehouse and I found it deeply unsatisfying. Why the comedic tone? Why so many holes in the story? Usually I finish miniseries, but I think I might as well cut my losses in this case.

Stonehouse was a fascinating watch. Not sure how much is true but pretty much the same level of goon still in the HoC today

Stonehouse is weird. Such a fascinating story but treated almost like a rom com. Matthew McFayden is great at portraying a hapless man but it renders Stonehouse one dimensional. A hopeless spy, rubbish liar.
People other than the main characters are almost blurry. His children oddly silent and robotic.
I understand why his family are furious.

The John #Stonehouse affair was really serious, and a former minister of the Crown went to prison as a resul of his actions.

The producers of the #ITV programme would obviously prefer to be making a Whitehall farce or a Carry On movie.

More telly. Always a delight to watch #DiggingForBritain, every episode I learn something new. Like Henry VIII was called Old Coppernose. And why. Then #Stonehouse, which was a delight.
