Masters of Reality release the second album, “Sunrise On The Sufferbus”

Great album cover art and title. And just an overall great rock album with Ginger Baker on drums!

I hadn’t heard of this band when this came out, but their first album is also pretty good. What I like about Sunrise is the variety of song structures. Several bluesy, driving rock songs, as well as quirky tunes like “T.U.S.A.” (how to make a proper cup of tea from a Brit) and “Madonna”, a short, sweet, and funny jab at the famous singer at the time.

I love the guitar production and the voice of lead singer Chris Goss. The opening track was their hit, and the closer is just as good. Check it out

Gestern Abend hab ich endlich mal das neue Album von Colour Haze auf Platte gehört. Mir gefällt richtig gut daran, dass die Texte mal wirklich politisch und gesellschaftskritisch sind... das fehlt mir bei Stoner Rock häufig. Und auch stilistisch weht ein frischer Wind. 😉 Besonders catchy fand ich diesen Song:

I found an interesting album today! "Woodland Rites" by Green Lung. Pretty cool sound and somewhere between stoner rock and stoner metal with doomy influences? I'm not sure where to put it.

Anyway, great for the evening and to come down.

Recommended songs: "Initiation", "The Ritual Tree", "May Queen" and "Into the Wild". I really liked and will certainly listen to the album more often :)
