We're mourning the loss of forest defender Manny “Tortuguita” Terán at the hands of Georgia police. They died fighting to protect the largest remaining urban woodlands in Atlanta. The beloved Weelaunee Forest is under threat from multiple developments, including the City of Atlanta's plans to create the largest police training facility in the US and Black Hall Studios’ plans to build the largest Hollywood soundstage in the country.

Cop City has never been about public safety. This facility is designed by corporations so that cops can better suppress social movements and protect rich people’s assets.
