Very depressed after reading a lot about the indictment of 61 protestors in Atlanta and reading the indictment itself. It reads like a very paranoid document, overbroad, zealous, with significant consequences. I feel the closest historical comparisons we have are red scare legal trials by J Edgar Hoover #StopCopCity

Liberals outside the Atlanta area have about as informed a take on #StopCopCity as you would expect. It's not really necessary to lecture them on it. What *is* necessary is to take the lessons from the movement and apply them locally.

A 109-page indictment, handed up by a grand jury last week and made public on Tuesday, accuses 61 members of a group called Defend the Atlanta Forest of illegally occupying the 85-acre (34.4 hectares) wooded site where the $90 million Atlanta Public Safety Training Center is being built.
