I have been opposed to the for-profit academic publishing model for a long-time. #Elsevier, #Springer, #TaylorAndFrancis etc. are mere rent-extractors. It is a deeply unethical industry. And that's why I volunteer for a non-profit #OpenAccess journal.

But I did not know Elsevier and T&F were so actively advancing the #FossilFuel industry—in an era of #ClimateCrisis.

All the more reason to #StopElsevier!

@FerRacimo I was of course boisting already the first toot, because #Elsevier is a rent-extracting machine, which makes the public pay to access research the public funded in the first place.

While I knew Elsevier is the EvilCorp of publishing, I didn't know it took this role so seriously that it has solid connections to fossil fuel companies.

Well, just one more reason to stop
