The fight or flight was strong in me last night. But i could close the windows, hide behind the tripple-layered glass and turn up our white noise machine, while my friends, the birds, foxes, beavers, deer out there, had to endure the loud explosions of these senseless nationalistic fireworks until late in the night.
Not far from here live Ukranian refugees in stacked metal containers,, who fled here from a war. How jumpy must they have been last night?

Fireworks are an ableist and speciesist form of entertainment for a few stubborn brutes and bullies.

I and my dog are really sick of hearing fireworks going off all around us AGAIN tonight, 4th night in a row in a city, Burlington Ontario, that does nothing to stop them. Terrible for pets and wildlife and birds and the environment.

Fireworks should be banned completely and permanently everywhere, and cities and municipalities should stop doing that too! Every year people are injured or seriously burned, many animals are frightened and are terrified, animals die every year as a result.
