Because we are also here to denounce the colonial offensive Wuambushu, in Mayotte, where the State has set itself the goal of destroying in two months 10% of the huts and expelling up to 300 people per day.

But in Mayotte, the expulsion of foreigners, mainly Comorians, is a year-round industry. The State sets the prefecture's expulsion targets at 30,000 people per year, i.e. 10% of the population of Mayotte. These are forced population transfers. Mayotte represents 3/4 of the expulsions for the entire French territory and the people who are not expelled constitute an exploited workforce.

For some background, Maore, which has been a French department since 2011, is subject to a derogatory law, which, in general and in all areas, does not allow the entire population to benefit from the same rights, the same public services, to have the same guarantees for fundamental rights as the entire French population.

In matters of policing foreigners, this derogatory regime allows cops to carry out generalized and discretionary identity checks throughout the country. This absence of time limits on identity checks gives unlimited power to the cops, who are omnipresent around public places (schools, health centers, prefectures, etc.) with the aim of instilling fear in the foreign populations living on the island.

As a result, tens of thousands of people are locked up every year and Mayotte holds the record for the rate of expulsions: about a hundred a day, mostly by commercial boats. Most people do not even spend 24 hours in the CRA [french internment facilities] before being deported. In 2022, 26,020 people (2,905 minors) were detained there (76% of whom were expelled) out of 43,565 people detained in all French detention centers (in and out of the mainland).

Le Monde revealed yesterday that "650 tear gas grenades, 85 disenciling grenades, 60 shots of defensive bullet launchers (LBD)" were fired even before the beginning of the operation by the CRS 8 company alone, on Sunday 23 April. All this to disperse "a hundred assailants". Several rounds per person.

Near the village of Tsoundzou, the police also used live ammunition. 12 shots "towards the ground and to scare people away". As if the use of firearms was a way to make people flee. Even Le Monde points out that "such handgun fire is rare in a context of law enforcement or urban violence, even in cases of extremely degraded situation."

This Tuesday, live on public television, the Vice President of the Departmental Council of Mayotte, referred to young Comorian immigrants as "terrorists" and stated, "Maybe we need to kill some."

The Comoros archipelago comprises four islands including Maore. The UN affirmed in a 1974 resolution "the inalienable right of the people of the Comoros Archipelago to self-determination and independence" as well as "the unity and territorial integrity of the Comoros Archipelago". The archipelago proclaimed its independence on July 6, 1975... but this was without taking into account the neo-colonial obsession of France which, refusing to see itself lose a strategically placed territory in the Indian Ocean, did everything possible to ensure that the vote was in favor of keeping Maore under French authority.

A referendum was then organized under Giscard d'Estaing in 1976. While 80% of the Mahorais were illiterate or did not speak French. Unsurprisingly, the majority of votes were in favor of keeping Mayotte as a "French collectivity". In 2009, under Sarkozy, in a relative media silence, the status of "collectivity" is changed to that of "department", made final in 2011.

#Mayotte doit impérativement accueillir plus d'immigration comorienne pour conserver sa vitalité économique et culturelle et un système scolaire et médical de qualité.

Le droit du sol doit être élargi (vers le droit du sol simple) et non restreint.

Tout Comorien qui en fait la demande doit obtenir un visa pour Mayotte, le droit de vote aux élections locales, et le droit de s'établir ailleurs en France après un an de résidence à Mayotte.
