Also, I just a list of over 200 #StormChaser folks who have migrated from Twitter to Mastodon. This makes me VERY happy.
As I’m thinking ahead to storm chasing in the Great Plains later this year I’m realizing in past years I used Twitter quite a bit to track the movement of other #StormChasing teams. I haven’t found many storm chasers on Mastodon. So I’m including a #StormChaser hash tag here.
I’m already daydreaming about my storm chasing trip in 2023. I think I’m going to go a little earlier in the season so I can concentrate on Oklahoma and northern Texas. Ultimately it’s up to Mother Nature as to where I’ll end up. I’ll just need plenty of rental car insurance. This past year some impressive hail cracked the rental car windshield. They didn’t say anything about it when I returned the car, but I got a bill eight weeks later. #StormChaser
Some lightning shots from tonight's storm. Gusts at nearby Davis-Monthan AFB at 41 knots, at Tucson Int'l, 52 kts. #stormchaser #monsoon
Today’s storm chasing activities target the southern Kansas yellow blob on the map. Tornadoes not likely, but severe thunderstorms with impressive wind and hail are certainly a possibility. #stormChaser
