My UX pet peeve is related:
It's not as dangerous, but I wish stovetop manufacturers would get the memo too. Any designer who thought putting touch (and moisture) activated controls on a working area that is often wet and surrounded by scorching hot items, should be ashamed of themselves.
And this is so pervasive in stovetops there are almost no alternatives.
