Walking in my corner of #StPaulMN is treacherous from incomplete plowing and unshoveled sidewalks. But I have discovered the freedom of telescoping trekking poles. Arms are timed to keep the poles in a free, pendular motion, one pole planted lightly at a time. Short poles minimize recovery lifting, short strap length allows recovery with a quick wrist flick, and metal tips with snow baskets effectively bite the ice. #Minnesota
