March : March hare and a hat to cover my hair. It’s still cold whilst spring will soon be in the air. Notebook illustration by Jackie Morris one of a set that depict my love of #nature. My hat designed by Kate Davies for #knitting seasons. The colours I chose are similar to my project plans for this year, neutral shades with some pops of colour to be decided. The norm for me is one main project with a small project to knit in the evening #KnittersOfMastondon #StrandedColorwork #FibreArts

also the two handed knitting method for two colors is so great. i haven't had to untangle my yarn balls, managing my floats is so much easier, my crops are flourishing, my skin is clear. :D #knitting #StrandedColorwork
Saturday flock of sheep became rather large as my #knitting progressed into a Rams and Yowes blanket. Knit in all of the natural shades of Shetland wool. Another item in our home that has stood the test of time. A Kate Davies design knit in the round with a steek then cut to knit the border. Picking up and knitting those border stitches was a challenge #ColourWorkKnitting #StrandedColorwork #Fiberuary #KnittersOfMastodon #blanket

A Friday flock of socks I cannot find any holes in my socks for #Fiberuary prompt this week but I have checked socks I knit several years ago and they still do not have any holes. It was a fun design by Anne Kingston I seemed to need knit a flock of different colours. They don’t even have nylon! Knit in Shilasdair luxury 4ply blend of cashmere/angora/merino/camel I should have posted these for #ColourworkKnitting #StrandedColorwork #knittting #KnittersOfMastodon #HandKnitSocks #SockKnitting

Really enjoying all the #Fiberuary color week posts! Here’s the #StrandedColorwork project that I’m most proud of: a Spider Gwen themed sweater knit in 2020 for my then-10yo. This is a mashup of two patterns: Cobwebs & Moraine. Knitting this really stretched my technical skills but Emerson loved it & wore the heck out of it. (I’ve marked this to hide the images until you click because of the spider theme.) #SpiderGwen #knitting

It's the first day of #Fiberuary and the theme of the week is Colour, which is convenient because I've been working on some stranded flip-top mittens! Of course I wrote about them in the knitblog: https://www.knittingpirate.com/?p=11666

Happy #Fiberuary! This week’s theme is COLOR. My fave knitting technique is stranded colorwork, and I’ve knit some pretty awesome projects over the years. An FO from 2008 - the pattern is Kristin’s Favorite Carry-All from Best of Interweave Knits, designer Kristin Nicholas. This FO is so old I even have a blog post about it: https://kimtimnashville.typepad.com/craftykim/2008/08/fo-finally-the-bag-large-enough-to-hold-the-purse-contents-of-the-universe.html #knitting #StrandedColorwork #steeking

Okay so that sweater I posted a while back, the one I knit in two parts and grafted together? I finally got a nice picture of it all done. My daughter modeling for me - it looks pretty great on her, I think. Also, I love how grafting is magic. :)
Pattern is Dog Star by Tin Can Knits and yarn is Sweet Georgia Superwash DK
