This morning I was scrolling through my mastodon, as one does,and saw a pretty picture and clicked my appreciation. Drank my coffee,did my morning workout, took my vitamins and then scrolled my instagram and there was the same picture! My SM worlds collide! Now I cannot find the pic on here and am wondering if I imagined the whole thing. #strangeness #fungi #instagram #hallucinations ?

there's a jarring move in the last 1/3 of #VALIS, an extension of its epistemological pushing/prodding, where #PKD drops the Phil/Fat setup via SF/theo-plotstuff--then back it comes as Fat returns.

the book's treatment of this collapse (back into #strangeness) as Just One of Those Things is maybe its most #phildickian quality: 'clinically crazy' is, in PKD's worldview, one more reality to be 'locked into' (318 in the LoA omnibus). structure perfectly, skillfully(!) mirrors content here...

羽咋の由来　－怪鳥伝説－

神代の神話のはなし。むかしむかしこの地域には“怪鳥”が出現し、村人を襲っていたという伝説があります。そこに、垂仁天皇の命によりやってきた磐衝別命（いわつくわけのみこと）が、供に連れていた3匹の犬とともに怪鳥を倒しました。しかし、怪鳥の羽根に喰らいついた3匹の犬は、戦いのすえに死んでしまいました。こうして、「羽を喰う」から「羽喰(はくい)」・・・「羽咋」という地名が生まれたのです。羽咋市内には、磐衝別命や3匹の犬にゆかりのある遺跡(古墳)が残されています。

磐衝別命とは
第11代垂仁天皇の第10皇子です。大昔に、不作が続き、疫病が蔓延し、巨大な怪鳥に悩まされていたこの地の村人を窮地から救うために、垂仁天皇の命により磐衝別命が赴きました。
