Je regarde #BackstreetDogs (#Strays 🇺🇸), une histoire de chiens errants; probablement le film de chiens-parlant le + clean que j'ai pu voir.
Ce Benji mature n'est pas désagréable. Sans réinventer la roue, ce qui fait "l'originalité" du métrage, c'est son ton.
En apparence, ça a tout d'un divertissement familial ; mais pour les + grands seulement. C'est très orienté pipi-quéquette-branlette. Un peu étrange, car ça tente de nous prendre par les sentiments malgré tout. Dommage pour les p'tiots. #NW

In #Macedonia, specifically #NorthMacedonia, you wouldn't find a lot of #vegans. Hell, you would be hard pressed to find many #vegetarians.
But they do exist, and there is an organisation, called #AnimaMundi - An animal protection group, that I follow on Facebook. There is a sad bunch of posts that they post, mostly, pictures of abandoned #cats and #dogs, #strays, in need of a good loving home. Sadly, neutering/spaying is not commonly done there, and there isn't a lot of organisations capturing the strays that roam the streets in the towns and villages of the country. When winter comes, many sadly meet a cold freezing end.
I was particularly struck by this poor black dog, their ribs showing, covered in flies, with a collar on, so it wasn't even a stray. The person who posted asked if anyone could take it in and save it. They sent an update to say that the dog has since died.
In contrast, here in #Australia, I don't see dogs roaming the streets, though cats are still a problem. Of course, that doesn't change the fact that animal shelters are overflowing with unwanted animals (as I read about yesterday https://aus.social/@Pece/110296278248016666), where their death may be necessary and merciful due to a lack of funding and resources, but a death all the same.
I am so sorry poor doggy. You are in a place now where there is no pain. And yet, it is another creature I was unable to save. 😢

Six years ago today, our dog Gator was riding with me as my co-pilot. Gator died too soon of cancer, and we miss him every day.
He showed up at our house as a stray, walked in and was immediately perfect. Well-adjusted, easy-going, happy ... his only issue was that he was terrified of riding in cars.
That got fixed with years of practice, as you can see.
