Resonate vient de mettre à jour tout son site ainsi que la version beta de leur player !

C’est un service de streaming musical basé sur le modèle #stream2own auquel j’ai bénévolement contribué en tant que designer à leurs débuts.

Le projet à besoin de soutient, donc si vous connaissez des artistes ou des labels indépendants qui veulent participer à la construction d’un modèle de plate-forme alternatif, coopératif, juste et soutenable, c’est par ici :

What do you call the #Resonate #Stream2Own payment system?

In Resonate the first time you listen to a song you pay 0.02$. The next time 0.04$. Until the 9th time, you have paid a combined of around 1$, and you can then listen to track as many times as you want with no extra pay.

Quadranic pricing?

The #stream2own model is based on owning the track after 9 plays.

The current implementation is that after 9 streams - you don't pay again on the beta app for listening to this track.

The aim is to add the feature were you can download once you have stream2owned the track. But it hasn't been implemented yet. Lots to do still. :)

@spudboy @trwnh @Stoori @funkwhale @h @wakest most developments aren't in the public domain yet. But ID, payments and metadata / licensing are the broad areas. Primarily backend stuff.

We are only a few months into having the resources to start most of this development. The current beta app doesn't rely on any of this (the initial build was focused on proving the #stream2own concept).

Oooh http://resonate.is released the new beta of their #stream2own player. Looks nice and a new option to hide specific artists/songs. I'd also like a hide by genre tag for those experimental noise tracks, personally

A matter of time/resources - focused on proving/disproving the #stream2own model presently. But I think music 'patronage' is the logical next extension (lots of open source code out there for this)

Re: governance - we are hoping to get the Constitution online ASAP, can't be changed easily now, but be great to get more views on implementation?

@giocomai I came to Resonate more for the disruptive ownership model, rather than the disruptive business model.

But I've come around to the idea of #stream2own as a disruptive business model needed to crave a niche out between the existing players (#platformcoops will need to disrupt the business models, not just ownership)

Great thing about Resonate though - is that as a member, you have input into things like #stream2own + openness of tech. Think all the above is still in beta :)
