Mr Queen (2020, South Korea) makes good companion viewing with I Am Not An Easy Man (France, 2018). If you like one, you'll quite possibly enjoy the other.

Speaking of Spy Thrillers, I am really enjoying Richard Sorge: Master Spy / Zorge (2019, Russia).

One of the best parts is it shows how clearly the currents of history are driven by the ambitions, ego, pettiness, grudges & personal feelings of the players involved, & how their actions work against their ostensible goals as much as for them.

I'm watching #BlackSun / #SenkeNadBalkanom (2017- ), a Serbian mystery crime thriller series set in the Balkans in 1928-1940. So far it is remarkable.

The period details are stunning. I don't have a clue of what's happening.The rookie forensic officer is flirting ham-handedly with the coroner. It veers so close to parody that moments can almost feel like SCTV.

I think it may turn out to be good but I don't even care because it is fascinating.

I just finished The Slavs / aka Slovenia (2021) & I thoroughly enjoyed it!

It's a fantasy adventure series is set in the 7th Century that follows the lives of the occupants of the Carpathian basin, at the time before the union of Slav tribes. The supernatural elements of the story draw from Slovak & Ukrainian folklore.

It's rare I say this but I never knew what would happen next!
