@douginamug Perhaps even regular buses are better than trams. Someone told me that trams can move more people than buses, but it's not obvious to me.

Either way, it's probably a mistake to tear out existing tram networks, but building new ones may not be a good idea.

Getting back to reading “Montreal: A Citizen’s Guide to City Politics”. In one chapter, the writers (Luc Gagnon & Jean-François Lefebvre) ask why #Montreal shouldn’t have a tram network.

The cost of the one they propose (see image) would be the same as the 5 stations they’re adding to the end of the Metro’s Blue Line.

Trams are proven to work well in the Winter (see Europe), cheaper to build than Metros and are more cost effective than BRTs.

No brainer, right?
