Tinsley and John. Beside the Water of Leith, Stockbridge. #edinburgh #streetportraits
I met these two while they were stylishly waiting for their bus to arrive. They’d just found a very smart, discarded chair and were putting it to good use. #streetportraits #streetphotography

Passed Marie-Louise on Saturday afternoon and it took me 30 seconds to pluck up the courage to dash back after her to ask if I could take her photograph. New York artist, journalist and international horsewoman, after protesting she wasn’t wearing perfume, she thankfully said yes. Effortlessly glamorous, being photographed was second nature. Thank you for giving me a few moments of your time. #streetphotography #streetportraits

A lovely soul agreed to have her photograph taken despite heading home after a long day at work. #streetportraits #streetphotography

A fantastic Saturday morning with Gabrielle Motola teaching us the skills for street portrait photography. Asking permission to take a stranger’s photograph is a whole new experience. Emotionally exhausting but ultimately incredibly rewarding. A wonderful affirmation of the kindness of people to kindly agree to giving a few moments of their time. More to follow. #streetportraits #streetphotography

I just posted a thing on my blog with some of the #streetportraits I've been taking during the Adelaide Fringe.

I just spent some hours walking around the Fringe taking #streetportraits of random strangers.
"Hi, can I take your photo?" was successful 24 times in 28.
I shot two rolls of 120.
Missed opportunity to shoot Christopher Pyne. I was too slow to catch up with him.

I love shooting with a TLR or the Hasselblad with its waist level finder. People are looking at the lens which is at a lower height and not at your eyes/face. It makes for interesting photos. This was shot when I was sitting next to him and having a coffee, Malleshwaram Bangalore 2011.
