You can build social safety nets within the #bureaucracy of a #state. Unless that state is addressing the fundamental cause that makes those safety nets necessary, those programs will face the exact same contradictions of #capitalism. Quality gives way to quantity. The workers will be overworked, underpaid, and continually up against a deadline. Meanwhile the bureaucratic entity becomes over-bloated with non-productive management.

European colonialism brought its own mythology to the indigenous lands it conquered. The tip of that spear was Christianity. That mythology was the justification for all the atrocities that followed.

Today, in our "advanced" society, we still give that mythology deference. The political winds have blown in many directions between now and conquest, but the underlying mythology is the same as it ever was.
