@isomeme I use #KeePassXC on desktop and you can pair it up with #StrongBox (iOS) or #KeePassDX (Android) on mobile. Offline solutions works best since cloud services can't be trusted as you well know.

Tried another round of experimentation with #BitWarden, because I like that it’s both open source and made by a company big enough to do real audits, but #Strongbox is just such a clearly better product, I can’t help but go back. Great indie password manager: open source, cloud-agnostic, and native.

Anyone out there using #Strongbox on iPhone to connect to an #SDF #NextCloud #Keepass file? I think you’re supposed to use WebDAV, but so far I have been unable to connect. My workaround isn’t great.

@deflate KeePassXC has versions for Windows, Linux, and macOS.
It doesn't have official mobile ports, but they suggest using one of these for iOS

or one of these for Android

• KeePassDX
• KeePass2Android

I use KeePass2Android and have no complaints.

But as a Mac-only client, #Strongbox doesn’t support Windows or Linux. So if I stay with Strongbox, I will also need to choose a Windows/Linux #keepass client.

Whether I choose Bitwarden or Strongbox, I may self-host once I’m settled in. I was worried at first about needing a cybersecurity degree to self-host, but the procedure (at least for KeePass) now looks easy, and the security is simply determined by how strong your master password, key file, and 2FA are.
