This is (currently) what I'm considering a rough canon backstory for the setting; I didn't realize the demigenesis was gonna be an element until fairly recently but I like it as another reminder that "humans" aren't the same any more (except in the ways they are, of course).

I won't lie, part of it also was inspired by lots of Plague Inc. a few years back, but stealing from multiple sources is "research" and "artistic license", right? 😀 ❤️
