Recently someone took issue with a hashtag I often use, #strongnotskinny as seen here:

They indicated that it was a tag promoting one body type over another, and I disagreed. They've deleted their post, but I wanted to address the issue:

Strong not skinny is a defiant cry against everyone who thinks women should be slim, soft, and incapable.

The women I photograph work hard so they can do stuff.

Fuck skinny, be awesome instead.

This may be one of the last times you see Vanesa in my galleries. She's one of the awesomest people I've had the pleasure to work with, and she's moving overseas with her family, without plans to return.

Can you believe recently given birth to her second daughter? She worked incredibly hard to get her body back. I'm really proud to know her, and I'm gonna miss her.
