*Sigh* I *really* try to not exist in an echo chamber when it comes to the #builtenvironment, but all signs point to there being a fundamental disconnect between where I see the #AEC industry and where it could be headed vs. the industry itself.

😍 This is slick as hell and I love it. We need one for #structuralengineers. (I've lost count of the number of disillusioned newish grads I've talked to about the disconnect between the academic environment and the practice of #structuralengineering.)

Evidently parts of the NY professional organization website hasn't been updated since 2009, and it SHOWS. I don't think many people are looking up #structuralengineers and #engineers using the yellow pages...🤦‍♀️

*wringing hands* People leave because low compensation/high stress—> well, we don’t get paid enough as consultants to pay more!—> how do we get paid more as #structuralengineers? —> we can’t control our pay because capitalism / competition—> it all sucks! *general agreement*
