Trying to get a grip on distance from #Ukraine to #Constantinople. It's almost 700 miles (8 days walking) via roads around the west of the #blackSea just to #Odesa . That's like walking from Richmond VA #RVA to #Boston . And it's another 300 miles (4 days walking) from the #odesa coast up to #kiev /#kyiv / #київ ... The #hagiaSophia in #istanbul is 1000 miles away from #stSophia #yaroslavTheWise
