People involved in higher ed in Ireland: are there grants/bursaries/whatever you'd call them for university students to use to buy books? I'm trying to familiarize myself with the landscape of student support here and any information would be useful.

I spend a lot to time thinking about how to ensure our students have agency and voice in the work we do with them. Right now, I am working with others around an #EmergentFramework for belonging and a new model for conversation to support student agency. I want to hear about what you think and what you're working on!

Whoa!!! Big news for trainees and others at UM. The new procurement system allows you to book airline travel without using your own credit card. This means students and others won't incur the cost of booking conference airfare.

Right! (cracks knuckles) have been pulled in as a sort of emergency support for a group of midwives really struggling to move from descriptive to analytical in their #AcademicWriting I have a plan, but am curious what the #StudentSupport and #Writing side of Masto thinks. I'm starting with a model to help push them from "descriptive to critical" then doing a bit on "presenting your evidence" and then a bit on some sentence starters. But always want to hear what occurs to others!

Spent a good chunk of this morning writing up a blogpost on a #StudentSupport conversation model that was sort of a riff on a more academic paper (similar topic) I am also putting together. It is interesting, how much it is helping me to be able to write more casually about a topic. I find it often prompts me to add things to the more formal paper as well. #AcademicWriting #amWriting
