I used to use #stumbleupon and referenced other "goto" sites to discover new and cool internet things. (Browser plugins, interesting and fun apps etc). Nowadays I feel like I'm just doom scrolling #reddit. Does anyone have any cool #discovery apps, sites, tools they use? Maybe I just need an internet detox. :/

@atomicpoet In its day, #Stumbleupon did this so well, both offering new sites and enabling self-expression. It is much missed.

And #StumbleUpon had a strong and generous community sense, too. I was not quite as much on there, but in a way recognized something similar on App.net.

The corporate reality unfortunately brought things down. Oh, well, this #Fediverse thing really looks promising. Hopefully the time is finally right…

@andymci I do old school blogging! It is fun. I am not in a link wheel or something like that. There should be a nerdy #stumbleupon service to nerdy blogs.

I don't expect to miss #twitter nearly as much as I still miss #stumbleupon

So, with my #InformationArchitecture head on -- by using a combo of the pinned post, edit function, and the hashtag #folksonomy it should be possible to create a #Tumblr/ #Stumbleupon index post for things like listing all of one's about/intro posts, or photography, gardening, WHY.

Wondering if this already exists, or is something people do. & whether it's possible to do a user/tag type link to filter posts.

Or if it would involve bodging things ala #[DistinctUserident]_[TopicTag]
