This is a European #starling (#Sturnus vulgaris) standing next to a bird house. Perhaps the possum I heard or maybe one of the many neighbours' cats knocked the bird house out of the tree last night. I'm very annoyed because *I* want to be the one that knocks the bird house full of eggs out of the tree.

Also I had the camera settings all set for astrophotography so it tried to take a very long exposure of 5 starlings all lined up on the same branch, sad about their unexpected house move. #Canon

On top of the world: a starling (Sturnus vulgaris)

Although the breeding plumage looks shiny and new, it is actually worn away. It is replaced after the breeding season.
