I am at a point in my creative writing journey where I have to make some decisions about projects, strategies, tactics and tools.
There is a vision behind all of this that requires distinct steps and processes, most of which will not have results for potentially years, if at all.
It requires an openness to experimentation, new directions, new techniques and new ideas. For a while now I have produced continuous line drawings and have seen my growth in that technique. So too in pointillism. Inspired by @peter_rush_drawings I am experimenting with urban landscapes. The first here was drawn using my lightbox, first in pencil, then with pen. The second was freestyling. In my mind I want it to look like Peter's work (you copy to learn) but I know his creative vision has taken years to develop.
So too will mine, creatively and artistically, in writing and in art, and in music.
Sometimes you follow the path someone else has made because it works for where you're at. Sometimes you have to follow the breadcrumbs left by others, and then sometimes it's stepping blindly into the abyss and stepping as far as the torch light allows.
The last two pictures are the same characters. The first one was the start of the streetscape, and the second is another version in my notebook.
