Thanks to @zhivi's #TopicOfConversation I've been able to put the pieces together about the extra weird part of the continued recommendation that #BlackFolks just change instances if they land in a hostile one.

We've been there and done that, throughout #history.

I presumed there was general agreement among progressives that things like #SundownTowns weren’t ideal. I guess not.

Look at all the places near us which were #SundownTowns: https://justice.tougaloo.edu/location/california/, including Berkeley (which continues the practice with their rampant NIMBYism.)

@zhivi, I'm curious if there might be a significant correlation between #SundownTowns of the mid 20th century and #WetTowns and #DryTowns of the late 19th and early 20th centuries viz. #Prohibition. My initial hunch is that more wet towns than dry ones are likely to have been sundown towns, mostly because of the strong connection between some abolitionist and prohibitionist groups.
