Thinking about sunscreen lately. I have no hair and so I have to be careful with my bald head, but it tends to get in my eyes and irritate them. I’d like to know which of the following is true:
1 ) Sunscreen is more important that it was 30 years ago because UV rays are stronger now
2) UV rays were of similar strength 30 years ago, but we are much more aware of the damage they cause so there is more emphasis on sunscreen
3) A combination of 1 and 2
4) The emphasis on sunscreen hasn’t actually changed that much in 30 years, I am simply mis-remembering

@andreaslindholm @ChrisMayLA6 yes, the tanning craze did a huge amount of damage. We still have to educate people that sunbeds aren't in fact safe, that bit of misinfo dies hard.

But people also think that clouds and glass stop UV and you only have to wear #Sunscreen with full sun on you - nope!! Just every time you go out in summer is sensible really (tho covering up and shade are even better.)
