I watched the #SuperMarioBrothers movie today and it was pretty OK. Jack Black as Bowser was probably the best part, much of the rest was pretty forgettable. Still way better than the live action Mario Brothers movie we got last time they tried to adapt this game.

Am I the only one who noticed that #AntMan #Quantumania and #SuperMarioBrothers had exactly the same plot? Cheerful doofus accidentally gets sucked into another dimension, where a woman-led community is under threat from an invading tyrant who has a crush on one of the women-leaders? (And Cheerful Doofus saves the day, of course.) Both making use of impressive computer animated explosions, too. Don't get me wrong, I was entertained. I just thought it was uncanny how similar they were.

Just got out of the Super #Mario #movie. Just... wow. Not what I was expecting at all, but so worth it. So many unexpected threads made it more like a Mario Universe movie than just Super Mario.

Saw the #SuperMarioBrothers movie yesterday as a family.

Since I’m not a #gamer and not familiar with the brothers and all the other characters, I just treated like any other animated movie. It was…OK.

I’m more looking forward to #movies coming out next month and beyond.

It was a close shave after my nephew went to the wrong location, but we just barely made our showing of THE #SuperMarioBrothers MOVIE. It was fun! They didn't try to reinvent the franchise or do a deep read into the subtext of the concept: they told a fairly straightforward story that anyone who's played a Mario game would enjoy, with enough eye candy to get those few who haven't safely over the finish line. All the voice acting was decent to great. Our burger, tacos & beers didn't hurt, either.

Spent yesterday streaming on Twitch most of the day. Ten hours with one streamer to get #WWESupercard drops. About two hours with another Supercard streamer for drops. The latter stream is discussing the latest #WWE rumors for the week in chat, which I don't care for. Got a notification that someone I actually subscribe to was going live for a playthrough she's filming for a gaming channel, so I went to a streamer attempting a #SuperMarioBrothers speed run after completing a drop.

So, it turns out that every pipe in #SuperMarioBrothers 1 has a piranha plant except for the pipes in 1-1. This is actually hardcoded into the game! If pipe and not 1-1, then piranha plant.

There's so much to learn in #NESdev.
