What if the #transporter has a resolution problem? Every time you use it, the copy of you created is subtly different because it cannot scan every internal state.
What if this is why humanity acts differently in the #StarTrek era? The transporter is “filtering out the bad bits”, so humanity is getting less gnarly the more we use it.
The turning point in a species story isn’t inventing #WarpDrive. It’s teleportation.

Your deliverables to me should try to address my concerns, not your direct reports'.
I know folks are gonna eyeroll, but for real PLZ learn how to manage both up and down.
What I mean by that is, give me what I need and what I ask for in a format that is appropriate. If I have to redo the entire thing before heading up to the VP's office, why do I have you?

I do my best, e.g. to tune the work of my #PhD #students to their career choice (mainly #academia or #industry), to encourage them to take #professionaldevelopment courses, or to take them to meeting with companies as most don't want to work in academia.

We have a great community of #supervisors, #postdocs and #students in our lab/ department. I'm fortunate I have formed a great supervisor/ student relationship, and can trust each of my supervisory teams. A great #relationship is certainly essential for PhD study.
