Why the #WGAStrike hits home for me personally (aside from the fact that I'm a writer and we should stand together):

Recently, I wrote an article (I won't say for whom) that I believe, but can't prove, was edited by a generative text program. The edit introduced exactly the kind of confident factual errors that are the hallmark of GT. I had to work post-publish to get them fixed.

Fair wages are vital. So is keeping humans in charge of writing and editing.

Not sure if people know this #strike is happening, but the cast and knights of the #MedievalTimes in California are trying to win higher pay, stop instances of animal abuse, and get better care for workplace injuries.

I miss going to #RenaissanceFestivals, since the pandemic, but not going when I think of it as solidarity with the strike feels more meaningful.
