Wow. My large print copy of the new #Tolkien #book “The Fall of Numenor” was sent out last night - earlier than expected - and the #RoyalMail said they expected to deliver it tomorrow, i.e. Saturday. Nope, it got to #Dundee 4.30pm, and a postie from Dundee West depot (we are usually Dundee East) delivered it at 6.40pm. Go the #posties! #SupportYourPostie #SupportTheStrikers

I'm with @mistyswoman - in the whirl of stuff about strikes we may be losing sight of another important dispute; our #postal #workers are in the middle of a fight to save the #postoffice from dismemberment... I use the post a lot (and indeed I used to run a mail-order business, & am currently selling off my academic library with the invaluable help of the postal service) & have spoken with many posties; this is a fight we all need to support

So, husbands present didn’t arrive today, as there is a #poststrike tomorrow and Saturday there is now no chance of his Christmas present being under the tree for Christmas morning. When I told him he took it so well, I momentarily wondered if I should have not bothered to get him anything and blame it on the post 😂 #SupportYourPostie

Had to pick a parcel up from the Post Office Sorting Office. Guy serving me remembered my Dad and mentioned him (we have the same name) 😭 ❤️

It's over 10 years since Dad died and I *love* it when people still speak of him, its the best feeling, like he lives on (I mean he does in his kids but you know what I mean).

Commiserated him on how busy he is ahead of two days striking, but totally supportive of them 👊
