One of the reasons I like #WordPress and #Mastodon and other opensource projects is that it's not a corporation tasked with making a profit.

I can afford my #WordPress blog on my own VPS. I can do the same with #Mastodon and do.

If Digg needs to go dark because it's not making a profit then that's fine. Users will find other communities and they have before.
