@tyercel AND the kids showed up with two cans of #surlyBrewing #LumberJack Darkness, but there just wasn't room for a 3rd helping at that point (and it wasn't chilled).

My Imperial stash is pretty well filled out at this point of the winter, but I'm always open for new adventures!

Double-take tonight with the family as we sample the #imperialStout comfort food (beer)!

First we say YES with #pryesbrewing Lost Moon 🌙 #barrelAged #imperialStout. A nicely balanced #bourbonBarrel aged Imperial with rich notes of chocolate and vanilla. Warms to a pleasant full body.

After pizza it’s #surlyBrewing #darkness Raspberry Chocolate Torte rye barrel aged #imperialStout. Hugely raspberry forward but with a #sour note that I don’t care for. It felt more like Surly #Sixteen added to a stout. Sorry but I’m going to pass on a repeat.

Took a chance on #SurlyBrewing 16 - barrel-aged imperial red ale.

Fruits aren’t my usual style (raspberry and strawberry 🍓 is generally not beer content to me).

Leans to a sour, lots of strawberry, worth a try but not on the repeat list.

Embraced the Surly Darkness again for T-Day+2.

Gotta say I liked the 2021 a lot better. Don’t get me wrong, this 2022 is a solid Imperial Stout and the barrel-aging is darn good, but it doesn’t quite have the body of last years.

Awaiting the arrival of Lumber Jack and other variants!
