A middle-aged man blogging about an old man writing about an even older and considerably deader man. But it's kind-of-fun, if you're interested in such stuff #surveyresearch https://www.kai-arzheimer.com/samuel-stouffer-survey-data-and-spirits-from-the-deep/

I’ve finished re-reading @joealey’s pre-print looking at how face perception researchers inadvertently reify race through their research practices:
It’s made me think about how survey research can also engage in racecraft and how we can ask questions to tap into racialization processes rather than just using a demographic variable

@arynn I don’t know what #NPS and #CX actually stand for but I think I understand your point. What would be an appropriate question that is actionable? (I understand this will differ per organisation etc) #surveyresearch
If you are still using only #NPS as your main #CX metric...
Please, I beg of you, find a more applicable question(s). And while you are at it, ask questions of your customers that are actionable for your internal employees.

If the question wording is what the figure caption seems to indicate, I (being a #SurveyResearch guy), wonder if a different question wording would get different results. I could imagine that "I expect that climate change will affect everyone's life negatively, including my own" might eliminate any implicit benchmarking against most exposed groups, and against the average person in one's own environment, that people perhaps automatically make?
The project tries to provide guidance on thinking about ICCs, especially in places (e.g., post-conflict) where past survey coverage is sparse. Probably only of interest to a narrow group. But I started wondering whether there were well-known texts covering this that I had just missed because of disciplinary borders or my lack of formal #SurveyResearch training.

Survey researchers who use clustered samples:
I'm early in a project on intra-cluster correlation (i.e. ICC, rho) in survey design. Best practice is, of course, to estimate ICC from previous studies. If that's not possible, most of us fall back on rules of thumb.
I'm wondering where your rules of thumb for plausible ICC values come from. Either textbooks or common cites in your field, if they exist. Because I rarely see them in political science.
