Why are after-service #surveys so ubiquitous these days? They can't possibly provide a statistically reliable feedback. And yet, call the cellphone company to add a phone: "can you hold for a survey?" Get home from the airport and check email "Tell us about your flight!!" I was overseas recently and a hotel booking I'd made hadn't been conveyed to the hotel, who were full, so I paid 50c/minute (international roaming) to sit on hold for 30 mins for the website's helpdesk, after which "would you mind staying on the line to take a quick survey?"
