I got this towel from 1 Infinite Loop, Palo Alto in 1995-ish.
Apple was really on the ropes back then and, I’ve no doubt, my beach towel and novelty keyring purchase from that single, on-campus Apple Store helped them get through those hard times to where they are today.

He designed most of the #NeXTstep's system icons and the fixed width #Ohlfs font used in its Terminal application (still my favorite font for shell, text files, and coding). His 32x32 pixel artistry inspired me to create the next-icon mailing list, where hundreds of NeXTSTEP-based icon artists exchanged their custom app and folder icons.

Partial set of Susan Kare’s Macintosh Classic OS bitmap icons. She had no experience with computer graphics so she referenced her work with mosaics, needlepoint, and pointillism. They were hand-drawn on graphing paper before being digitized.

Susan Kare, graphic designer who created many familiar icons & fonts for Apple, NeXT, Microsoft, and IBM.
Her creations include most of the iconography and fonts which shipped with the original Macintosh, and many icons which persisted in Windows from version 3 until XP.
