It does make you wonder, what other digs did #TimeTeam pass up? Lost opportunity’s that could possibly have changed history if only they’d made the right choice.

I thought they were (in their new crowd funded format) supposed to be doing a dig at #SuttonHoo last year. I wonder what became of that?

'Work to start nailing up hull of a replica of the Anglo-Saxon ship found at Sutton Hoo has got under way.'

'27m reconstruction of burial ship is being built in a shed beside River Deben in Woodbridge, Suffolk.'

'Project manager Jacq Barnard and master shipwright Tim Kirk said they were "delighted" replica of ship found at Sutton Hoo would be taking on its full shape.'

"This time next year, we should see the whole ship in its full glory,"

Edith Pretty, who was responsible for the excavation of the ship burial at Sutton Hoo, died 80 years ago #OnThisDay in 1942.

In a stunning act of generosity, Pretty donated all the finds to the Museum in 1939. Take a look at her incredible legacy here.
