Bought two refractors on Black Friday sales tonight, returning one: the #svbony sv503 70mm f6 (f4.8 with flattener), and its larger f7 (f5.6 with reducer) 102mm cousin. Hoping to kick off a prev frustrating #DeepSpace #astrophotography chapter. Trying to decide which is going to be best with my light pollution—Having trouble believing small scopes really work, but its lower price could mean I could afford to maybe also get my DSLR modded. Ended up grabbing two refractors today (returning one) the f6 svbony sv503 70mm and its bigger f7 102mm cousin for the next chapter in deep sky Astro,(with their requisite flatteners)… doing some research still on which will play best in my light polluted locale. One thing I’m considering is that the much lower price on the 70mm means I could do some other upgrades… might be able so send out my DSLR for modding.
