#Today Charted out chapters 3 and 4 of #SwiftData and figured out the challenge for Chapter 2. the #SwiftPlaygrounds Course for non programmers is complete and packaged off to LinkedIn.

Ready to packge up and upload to LinkedIn my latest course on #swiftPlaygrounds, then found I had forgotten the Last Video: Next Steps So I had some last minute script writing and producing to do. Though I'd try some live action, but the audio sucked too badly to work. I realized that it's okay that it was bad - crappy stuff is where you start. Made a poster I posted yesterday, but though I’d do it again.

Today I learned that @Swiftdev develops & ships all his apps using #SwiftPlaygrounds on the #iPad! 🤯

His apps are remarkable, it seems the feature set isn’t that limited at all. 🤔

It’s so interesting! 🤩 Someone should interview him in a #Podcast!

I’ve been trying out the upcoming beta version of #SwiftPlaygrounds to get a feel for #SwiftData. In terms of SwiftData, it’s interesting, though using the Query macro/property wrapper breaks previews and fails compilation, for some reason. I imagine this is just a beta bug, though.

@TheQuinbox @jcsteh What about on the #ipad?
I've yet to do it successfully, but I've heard that with the newest version of #SwiftPlaygrounds, you can make entire apps & publish them, right from your ipad!
This is awesome, especially, if, like me, you have an ipad with cellular.

I had a hunch that I could take on tasks that I used to do with Python + matplotlib + Jupyter with Swift Charts + SwiftUI + Playgrounds instead. But I had no idea it’d be this nice and easy. Plus I find the default result better looking and I have much more control over everything around the chart, like labels, titles etc.

This will change everything for me when working with charts.

Have had some interesting sessions with #chatgpt programming #swiftui on #ipadpro and #swiftplaygrounds My MacBook Pro days are numbered.

I’m not saying I definitely should be able to run all the solutions for #AdventOfCode in a #SwiftPlaygrounds app. But I am saying that it is very #frustrating that I can’t run today’s.

Every time I’m away from my desktop for a few days, I always get the urge to code. Typically, work scratches that itch enough.

This time, it’s a longing for the old Bento-style “personal database” systems. Something simple enough for a non-techie user (think column types like “text”, “number”, “money”, “link”, etc.). Poking around with #swiftPlaygrounds right now, doing basic type design and UI mockups.

Of course there’s AirTable and the like, but they cost money and it’s fun to design my own.
