Suchmaschinen mit ausschließlich eigenem Index gibt es tatsächlich nicht so viele. Nur bspw. #Swisscows hat einen eigenen Index:

So, I've been playing around with the search engine #SwissCows this morning, and I found out that their music search is powered by #SoundCloud. Did a search for the title of one of my tracks and found it as the third one down in the results. I personally think that's pretty cool. :)

The #SearchEngine race to the bottom continues, and my daily, #Qwant, is showing its limitations.

Who's having good results with another #privacy -respecting search engine? I can't find a good public #searx instance, #metager 's search engines aren't great anymore, #DuckDuckGo only works when I'm looking for specifically #tech answers, and #SwissCows filters results. Maybe @Mojeek or #Ecosia with the #Bing client ID disabled? I'd like to use a service with an independent, unbiased crawler.

Después de unos años con el buscador #Swisscows (servidores en Suiza), estuve unos meses utilizando #DDG, sobre todo porque me gusta el widget en pantalla de inicio del móvil, pero me está empezando a gustar #Quant, que tiene servidores en Europa.

De hecho, los tengo todos incorporados en firefox (también #searXNG) y configurados los atajos para utilizar cualquiera de ellos.

Llevo años sin utilizar el buscador de #Google y ahora mismo me es completamente prescindible.

#Quant is also on my radar, along with #Mojeek, #Swisscows, and #StartPage. My money is on the Germans, though. I’d rather bet on a nonprofit, plus I’m already using a German email system (#Tutanota) and love it.

@dazmoriarty I just got a quick reminder why I do not use #SwissCows: they show me a search form & *after* i submit my query they say “Error 429: Too many requests”. Assholes. So i take the time to enter a query, SwissCows & MS benefits from knowing what i wanted to search for, then deny me the results.

@dazmoriarty I used SwissCows off and on for a couple months. I don’t recall why I somewhat permanently ditched them. #SwissCows is a Microsoft syndicate & most likely they showed tor-hostility.. that’s often what drives me off.

@gibphil Oh.. and to protect yourself from dangerous hackers please share with us your work address, home address and all your phone numbers.. Its for your own good! Screw Google! Time to switch to #protonmail , #staetpage , #swisscows or #brave search

Els cercadors #DuckDuckGo com #Swisscows funcionen malament. Quan hi cerques "mastodont.cat" et retornen com a primer resultat el servidor #Mastodon equivocat.
Estaran aquests dos cercadors confonen als nous usuaris que cerquen aquest servidor mitjançant aquests cercadors?

#SwissCows is a #privacy oriented #searchengine which you can use with the #VPN (as linked) or back track the link to the regular SE which is still a privacy-focused engine.
