Recently finished Elric of Melniboné which was the #SwordandLaser December pick. Just the first one. It actually got better right at the end which makes me kind of want to read later stories where as halfway through I was debating dropping it entirely. #Fantasy #FantasyBooks

I'm reading Brightness Falls from the Air by James Tiptree Jr. (aka, Alice Sheldon), a sci-fi book published in 1985. It's part of my #swordandlaser bookclub.
About 50% in and I'm not sure I'll finish. Some of the content is troubling and definitely doesn't stand the test of time. It just doesn't feel right. Paternalism, child porn (not explicit), sexist gender roles, etc. Story seems fine but I haven't met the "deadly conflict" yet. But maybe I just don't need to.

One of many upsides to #RemoteWork - Before, I could never immediately add books to my #GoodReads "want to read" as I mostly listened to podcasts on my long, crappy commute or while walking dogs. Now that I'm ALWAYS HOME you could track the timing of when I listen to #ReadingGlasses or #SwordandLaser by when I add their suggestions to my list
