Probably should emphasize that you can use hashtags in any post about anything, which helps spread linkage around. I was surprised after a few days to have more people following me than I had followed. I suspect it is the #ukuleles and #banjos more than the #Newspapers, #OldTimeRadio and #Appalachian #swVirginia :-)

@davew It'd be economical if I lived in metro NY or northeast #Virginia where NYT & WashPost might cover my local news as well as the world. So I help support them, two online oases at the edge of my #Appalachian local-media desert -- https://cardinalnews.org and https://virginiamercury.com -- plus two chain-owned, understaffed local #swVirginia newspapers, https://roanoke.com and https://radfordnewsjournal.com
