Some 1min advocacy for you!
Inner West Council are planning to fix the Carrington Road Cycleway, taking it from being downright dangerous with large intersections and fast turning traffic to a safe and comfortable ride with tight corners, traffic calming, and give way lines.
It's super easy to fill out the survey and just say you support it! And of course you can give more detailed feedback if you want.

Wow, I somehow didn't hear about this one happening until now. They're finally removing the slip lane and that tiny waiting island at the corner of Centennial Park and Queens Park. Construction started a couple days ago. Yay!!

📣 Have your say: Feedback on the Curlewis Street Cycleway REF (review of environmental factors) closes this Tuesday at 5pm.
The cycleway will link Bondi Beach most of the way to Bondi Junction and the CBD. Hopefully this is the last round of consultation and it can get built in time for summer! 🌅 🏖️

Bourke Street, early 1980s vs today.
Back then it looks like a traffic sewer and busy intersection with traffic lights. Today it's a pedestrian square, and Bourke Street is a beautiful tree-lined street with a separated cycleway.
I wonder which traffic-clogged streets today will have been transformed like this in 40 years from now?

@SydneyCyclewaysFan I hope the Anzac Parade cycle way gets a go a ahead. Some mind boggling comments on the proposal.

💬🚲️ Consultations on two game-changing cycleways opened this week 🤩
- The Cooks to Cove Greenway in the Inner West will connect the Cooks River path with the Bay Run & Rozelle: https://yoursay.innerwest.nsw.gov.au/greenway
- The Anzac Parade Cycleway in the Eastern Suburbs will introduce a whole new area to the safe cycleway network: https://www.yoursay.randwick.nsw.gov.au/activateanzacparade
Make sure to have your say! (particularly the Anzac Parade one as it's already received a lot of negative comments)

Just had a read of the Maroubra Junction masterplan and there are a lottttt of goodies in here 🤩
Think separated cycleways (Anzac Pde & Maroubra Rd), slip lane removals, street closures, island bus stops, kerb extensions, street art and more 🤤
If it sounds good, have your say - takes 1min to register, you can say something as simple as "I support the cycleways and extra pedestrian space" - https://www.yoursay.randwick.nsw.gov.au/maroubrajunctionmasterplan
This truly is the embodiment of @betterstreetsnsw!
Nice to see some more bits of cycleway popping up on the Kingsford to Centennial Park cycleway route!
It's had a super slow start but I reckon the end-of-2023 completion date could still be within reach

Awesome news, this is a huge win for Sydney 🥳🥳

I'll be using it for riding from Central to Circular Quay and Woolloomooloo, with the final section of Liverpool Street starting construction this year, it'll be seamless! 🎉

Woohoo! Out of the blue, it looks like the final section of the King Street Cycleway will be built *this year*, linking the Pitt Street Cycleway to Kent Street and the Pyrmont/Anzac Bridges 🥳
This will be great for when the Salesforce Tower opens at the northern end of Pitt Street with secure bicycle parking for the general public.
If you think it sounds awesome, please complete the Have Your Say survey here by 6 Feb @ 5pm: https://roads-waterways.transport.nsw.gov.au/projects/king-street-cycleway/index.html

Hooray! I have to drag my bike out of the city every day. Very much welcome this.

Looks like the College Street Cycleway is finally (re-)open! 🎉
The bike traffic lights were still covered over, but the concrete barriers are gone (there's still a small metal one at the entrance lane from Wentworth Ave), and there were some people on bikes riding along it when I walked past.

🚲🚧 Construction progress on the Kingsford to Centennial Park Cycleway — Finally seeing some cycleway!!
The pics with orange barriers are on Doncaster Ave between Roma & Koorinda Ave. Interestingly, looks like the cycleway will be level with the footpath here (see the drain height), but separated by a grass verge with trees.
The other photo is near Darling St, where a new zebra crossing will be built. Looks like the cycleway will be level with the road there.

⚠️ The Have Your Say for the Sydney Harbour Bridge Cycle Ramp closes TOMORROW!
Please make a submission via email if you haven't already, even if it's just as simple as "I support the cycle ramp". It's important, as the ramp is apparently still facing some opposition from noisy residents.

Good to see this massive bike cage at UTS uni being well used! This is one of 3 secure bike cages across the campus.
From what I can research, it seems that UNSW has a meagre 35-space bike cage with wall-mounted racks (hardly seems enough for a whole uni), and USyd doesn't seem to have any cages at all! (though there's a cage at Redfern Station which you could walk from)
It's a pity, because both UNSW and USyd are easily accessible via cycleways! #SydneyCycleways #sydney #cycling #university

This morning on my ride into the Sydney CBD, there was a queue of about 7 or 8 bikes in front of me on the cycleway. If we were in cars, we probably would have been a whole block's worth of traffic! #feelsgood #SydneyCycleways #traffic #cycling #sydney

Yay!! Although it looks like the Sydney Harbour Bridge bike ramp (replacing the existing stairs) will only open at the end of 2024, it's been 25 years in the making, so even seeing it start construction next year will be exciting!
